This documentary follows a jazz drummer in his quest for intriguing "sounds." The protagonist is Australian musician Simon Barker, who embarks upon a long journey after being captivated by a CD of Korean percussion instruments. He simply has to meet the artist. Numerous inquiries finally yield a name: Kim Suk Chul, the great exponent of traditional Korean music. Unfortunately, Kim is in a hospital, and Barker is told it would be difficult to see him. However, Barker continues his quest. What is the secret of that distinctive rhythmic sensibility? To further his investigation, Barker begins to play with performers of traditional Korean music. Finally, at the end of his journey, he manages to meet Kim Suk Chul. | |||||||
