Young women gather in traditional ethnic costumes. From this group, young men pick brides. This is a festival of the minority Hmong community, held in northern Vietnam. Scattered over a broad mountainous region, these young people have few opportunities for dating. The annual festival provides them with a chance to meet. In Picking Blossoms, we see as many stories as there are youths gathered there. A young man who participates year after year but has yet to meet that special someone. A teenage girl who has come for the first time, and is so bashful she can't even talk with the men who approach her. And then, the young man who is lucky enough to find his destiny.
